In support of EEI’s analytic, modeling, and simulation services, EEI has made significant investments in its IT infrastructure.  We use the following tools:

• Matlab 7

• MS Excel, Visio, Project, and other MS Office applications

• Visual Studio .NET (C++, C#, and VB.NET, ASP.NET programming and scripting languages)

• Mathematica

• Mathcad

• Windows Server 2003, SQL Server and Analysis Services

• Client services for Oracle, and MYSQL

• Proprietary Programs

Several databases are maintained.  These include the following:

• Short, Medium, and Long-Term LMP and Price Setting Forecasts

• Real-time weather forecasts from the National Climactic Data Center (a division of NOAA)

• MISO Day-Ahead and Real-Time price information since it went "live" April 1, 2005.

• Gas Price Settlements and Futures

• Coal Pricing

EEI owns its own servers and can provides extranet and web service data feeds of processed data.
